A room designed for relaxation and enjoyment. Welcome to my eclectic family room tour where I share all my design details!
Welcome to the family room... where the magic happens! The magic being Netflix binge watching of course 🤣
When designing this family room, I knew it was going to be a multifunctional space. Since I kept my upstairs living room more formal, this would serve as the place where we watch movies and relax. It also serves as the place where guests stay when they visit and where I do my at-home workouts.
As far as wall art goes... I was inspired by Mallory Nikolaus and created my own gallery wall with family photos. Like her, I went with black and white photos for a more classic feel.
While there are so many good stylish frame options to make lower quality photos look more expensive, I went with these navy distressed frames. They already come in a set, which made the process super easy!
Rather than having a dedicated guest room, I invested in this Murphy bed to put in our family room. I love that is serves a dual purpose and that chances are you wouldn't even know there was a comfy queen bed hiding in there!
It's easy to pull out and easy to put away after use. I would definitely recommend it if you are looking to save space without having to sacrifice comfort for your guests.
To throw a little bit of glam into the room, I added in the arched mirror.
The organizer in me needed a storage solution for all our fitness equipment. I went with this storage bench to hold smaller items like weights and DVDs and some felt hampers to store bulkier items like yoga mats and foam rollers.
That's a wrap for the family room tour! Make sure to check out the other rooms in the Sunlight South house here. 🤗
