Looking to add a modern, yet clean touch to a space? Incorporate some acrylic! In my home I have acrylic chairs, an acrylic family command center, and acrylic gallery frames!
You might be wondering... what is acrylic?
Acrylic is a transparent, versatile plastic material. It is often used as an alternative to glass. Aesthetically speaking, acrylic items aren't visually invasive and typically blend well with other items in the room.
Why choose acrylic?
- Durability - Unlike glass, acrylic is shatter resistant! It is also more lightweight, which reduces any weight risks.
- Clarity - Acrylic has even better clarity than traditional framing glass. There are types of acrylic that reduce glare and some that provide UV protection, all while giving you a clean, crisp look.
- Flexibility - Although these were an investment piece, the idea of being able to easily swap prints out sold me. Acrylic frames will work with any style of art, so you don't have to worry about getting new pictures frames that compliment the art.
Because the wall in my master bedroom is so big, I wanted art that was big enough to fill the space without being super heavy and overwhelming. It needed to balance the TV out and not be too visually harsh. That's when I started searching for acrylic frames!
After a little digging, I came across these acrylic gallery frames from Pottery Barn. Since I already had gold lamps in my room, I decided to mix metals and go with the silver finish. I found other less expensive frames, but these appeared to be the best constructed.
I paired the frames with this botanical print set to add a modern and traditional touch to the room. The installation of the pictures and of the frames on the wall was super straightforward and I haven't had any problems since I put them up! 😊
